I think I’ve made it clear that I dislike dogs. In fact, I hate dogs. And I think I’ve instilled the same antipathy into my children.
Not only is our new neighborhood chock-full of kids, it is also abundant in dogs. My daughter went to get the mail on Saturday and came back screaming and bawling. One of my worst fears materizalized into reality – Mallory got bit by a dog! Poor poor Mally Dally.
What I’m listening to on iTunes… “Cat’s in the Cradle” by Harry Chapin
I think all dogs that bite should be contained some way or the other. My daughter also was bitten by a friends dog,a Chow-Chow, about 6 years ago.She is 16 now and still has scars from the bites.I lived in VA at that time and the friend and her dog lived in WV.It was the weekend and the authorities couldn’t cross state lines with the animal to test for rabies so my daughter actually had to take rabies shots for 6 months. BUT, I have to say we have different opinions about dogs. Not all dogs are the same.I actually have 2 inside dogs and they couldn’t be more loving than they already are.I actually think that I could never find a better companion if I tried.
