The Secret is an instance where the DVD is better than the book. This is about the law of attraction. A deeper examination is in Dr. Wayne Dyer's 'The Power of Intention' live. But the end-all-be-all transformational experience is the live courses at Millennium3Education in Dallas, TX. As Dr. Dyer has said, you have to actually do and experience to truly learn and grow when it comes to the human condition, not just sit and think about it or observe. The main pitfall is that self-directed or self-taught ideas about the self does not work on any kind of impactful level. Talking about something or reading about something or listening to something will never ever in a entire lifetime convey it compared to actually experiencing it. The idea there is that you can't get wet from the word water. Truly experiential learning(not just a live discussion), which is not self-taught, is when transformation occurs; true transformation, literally from a larvae to a butterfly. 8 days there total is like strapping a booster rocket on your back, for good, beyond anything you can hear, see, or read in the latest of the latest book/tape/lecture.

Sounds like a good one. I've written it down to take a look at it. I'm an avid reader and that sounds like something I would enjoy. Speaking of books, I am currently reading The Pursuit of Happyness (there's a movie coming out soon with Will Smith about it). When I saw the previews of the movie I knew I had to read the book first. It looked like such an inspiring story. It's a pretty easy read (I'm over half-way through) but I am disappointed in the book. There seems to be way too much about his sexual escapades and about him gettin' some and twice so far about his boners for crying out loud! I feel that in a book that I thought would be a great inspirational story it is being overshadowed by smut. No, I am not a prude. I just don't really see the relevance there. Anyone else read the book? I doubt the movie will show/talk about those parts of his book.

That sounds like something I could use. I think I will check it out. I am a 33 year old mother of a 16 year old and I am ashamed to say,"I have nothing."Not even my own home. I was taught growing up that "The Man" of the house was suppose to provide for his family.Ha Ha ,what a joke ! Don't get me wrong, there are many men out there that do exactly that but I have, 2 times, ended up with the wrong man.1 time married and 1 time a live in partner. They always put everyone else above me and espically the blood relatives. Now I am to the point that I either take it or be homeless. I wouldn't take it if I had any means at all to get myself another home but being disabled, there is not much I can do. What a life I have ! I wish I had done a lot of things different but I guess I am too old now. Kim, it sure sounds like you have a great Mom ! I am definately going to check out that book !
