What do you think of the new look? I’ve been obsessed lately with WordPress themes. I thought this one was most appropriate with the house graphic and the blue color. Although I think the black would look better white. But not sure I want to try to figure out how to do that. I’ve redone about a dozen sites now with free wordpress templates in the past few weeks. When I run out of MySQL databases on my servers, I’ll take that as sign to stop.
And then I suppose you wonder what I’m doing home alone on a Saturday night? Humiliating, I know. Catching up on work from my ill spell and trying to get work done ahead of time for when I’m in Vegas. I’ll bring my laptop, but I doubt I’ll use it much. I arrive Saturday late afternoon just in time to attend the Affiliate Dinner, the Cirque du Soleil show “Zumanity”, and I want to ride the rollercoaster at the Stratsophere. And that’s just the first night of four… I better rest up.

I’ve been battling a cold now for almost 2 weeks – runny nose, cough, sore throat, headache, earache – and it’s only been getting worse instead of better. My grandmother swears by Blackberry Brandy for colds. In fact she offered me a swig of her bottle that Uncle Anton gave her. Um, grandma, Uncle Anton died before I was even born. And I’m not sure brandy gets better with age.
So, I broke down and went to the doctor, as I want to feel better before I go to Vegas next week! Got some Entex and Amoxicillin. I thought I’d casually ask for a script for Fastin as well, but the doctor just laughed at me. It was worth a try.
My main reason for not going to the doctor earlier was that I am a “penny pincher” and didn’t want to spend the $30 for my copay (my meds were only $14), but I had to reason with myself that I’m not making any money laying on the couch sick. And it was a good experience to test out my new insurance.
I don’t miss my ex-husband at all, but I do miss his health insurance. After our divorce, I went to eHealth.com and applied for the cheapest plan I could get (pinchpenny, remember). I thought $50/mo was a good deal beings I’m usually quite healthy and could get by with a $5000 deductible. Well, turns out I ended up having an ovarian cyst rupture the next year and my bills totalled $4999 out of pocket – no joke.
So, back to eHealth.com I go. I opted for Blue Cross Blue Shield this time. $200/mo gets me a $30 copay, $10 meds and $1000 deductible. Doesn’t cover inpatient drug rehab or maternity, so I’ll have to be a good girl.
Don’t forget to watch the “all-new” ER tonight!
