Sweet Sixteen and Never Been Kissed?

I’m still trying to get away with telling everyone I’m 29 years old, but with my son turning 16 this past weekend, it’s not going to be easy. I’ve received some criticism for buying him a brand new car for his birthday. Mind you, it’s a four-door 2007 Ford Focus, not exactly the sports car hotrod he wanted. Plus I told him that I own the car and that he is going to have to work for me doing data entry (adding coupon codes) every week to pay for his gas money. At 32 MPG, I think I will drive it for solo trips, as that is way better gas mileage than my current vehicle gets.

I thought about going the used route, but 1) I know nothing about cars, and 2) I think car salesmans would have taken advantage of that situation, so 3) I’d probably have to put money into a used car, so 4) I decided I wanted something under warranty so I wouldn’t have to worry about such. And I had my brother (did I mention he is single and good-looking?) negotiate the price.

I had told my son he didn’t need to drive it to school since his school is only a few blocks away, but he came up with this *brilliant* idea (must be smart like his mother)… He could take the girls to their school in the morning, so I wouldn’t have to go out in the morning! Geez I could basically stay in my pajamas for days.

What I stuffing my face with… Rhodes AnyTime! Cinnamon Rolls. With the cream cheese frosting, they are the next best thing to Cinnabons.

First Affirmation for 2007 – Get a Passport

I think Moxie knows “The Secret to Success“. In her Resolutions & Affirmations blog post, she lists her affirmations using “positive thinking techniques”. A few of her “resolutions” hit close to home….

My business does $1000 a day in transaction
We get at least 1 request from the press per month
I put $1,000 away a month in my savings account
I work out regularly (in a gym) 2 times per week
I am 135 pounds
I cook my meals at home
I am ready for that “life-changing” relationship
I visit my Dad at least 3 times a year
I will do yoga or pilates at least twice a week
I book a flight to London in August
I take at least 2 evenings during the week for myself
I socialize more in 2007 at events other than my own

My goal, though, is that I want to make more money than that, and weigh a lot less. The rest is a push. I would seriously like to go to London for Ad-tech or Paris or… both! Gotta Dream Big.

What I’m Listening to on iTunes… “Closing Time” by Semisonic” I know who I want to take me home. Be glad that you can’t hear me singing.
