Just Another Manic Monday

I just about missed my flight this morning from Denver back to Omaha. I got a lecture from the ticket attendent that I should have arrived earlier (after standing in line for what seemed an hour). She said there was no way my luggage would make it and didn’t even know if I’d make it. So, I took a run for it as I didn’t want to wait another 5 hours for the next flight. I cut to the front of the security line with not too many sneers and arrived at the gate just in time to board before they shut the jetway.

So while on board, I contemplated as to whether I would wait around in Omaha for my luggage to arrive on the next flight (I could always shop) or if I’d call and beg my brother who works in Omaha to pick it up for me. But then I remembered that I know the secret….

I had already told the poor guy that got stuck next to me about my dilemna, but as we landed I turned and said to him, “I’m gonna think positive. My luggage will have made it and be waiting for me.” And you know what? It was. Coincidence? But I should have thought more positive about the rest of the morning…

My car was buried under 6 inches of snow, and I had no coat or gloves. But I did have my luggage that contained dirty socks to wear over my hands and dig the car out. I’m sure I was quite the site. Then I got a text message that the highway was flooded, and I’d have to detour. Then my mother calls that my son needs to go the doctor for strep throat…

While in Denver, we went and saw The Number 23 movie with my free movie tickets from Blingo. I had seen Jim Carrey’s interview on The Today Show last week, and if you listen to his views on the Universe, he knows the secret to success as well.

Talent Agents Please Call My Private Phone

Since I work from home, I communicate with my colleagues via IM and email. I have a dedicated business phone, but I was getting sick of all the CPA Networks bugging me. Then I found Private Phone. Owned by NetZero, it offers a free local phone number with voice mail. So, I have my (not so) private phone number now listed on my Contact Page. This way I can screen my calls and only call back who I really want to talk to. Go ahead call it and see how it works. I promise not to answer. I won’t even know you called unless you leave me a friendly hello. I have it set up to email me when I have a new message. You can also set to send you a text message to your cell phone.

I’ve been a good spokesperson for Private Phone. I recommend using a private phone number for signing up for freebies and entering sweepstakes. Sure saves on the telemarketing calls. They recommend a private phone number for classifed ads, to have a local number in another city, even to give out on dating sites.

Ok, I’m getting off track… My original intent of this post was to write about how it’s nice to go affiliate marketing conferences to get to meet my colleagues in person. In Vegas, I finally got to meet Shmuly of OneParkAvenueReality.com

This is Patrick, me and Shmuly at the Tryst Nightclub, Wynn Hotel, Vegas

Shmuly’s latest mission is to recruit Ari Gold as his talent agent. He had me going for a minute, as I don’t subscribe to HBO.
