Yep, I’m Endorsing Obama

I’ve never been much into politics.  In fact, I sway and change my voter’s registration card back and forth between Republican and Democrat depending on if I want to vote for someone in particular in our local county elections.

Tonight, the last presidental debate bored me.  And upset me that it ran over into Lipstick Jungle’s prime time slot.  I kept the TV on though while I blogged about deals and freebies and listened to the candidates duke it out.   Although I think John McCain won this debate (and his running mate Sarah Palin wears great shoes), I think I’m going to vote for Barack Obama.  His healthcare reform just about had me sold, but this video by Sarah Silverman swung my vote for sure (and I’m not even Jewish). Watch for yourself…

Not that my one vote is really going to count as I live in Nebraska where the electoral votes are distributed via the Congressional District Method, and we’re a red state, but I’ll venture out and vote.  Although I would much rather be attending Ad-Tech in NYC that day.  Oh well, I was just in NYC last week.

Just overhead Jay Leno talk abou about the recession – More women are having sex with their husbands because they can’t afford batteries!  But myself being single, I’m thinking batteries are cheaper than a husband!

P.S. Remember when my son broke his leg? Now he broke his hand!

How to Prevent Hangovers

Hung over? When Squeak gave me this “anti-hangover recipe” per se, I admit I was a bit leery.  But I figured I’d have a wee bit too much to drink on my birthday so gave it a whirl…

To avoid the after-effects of alcohol (including massive headaches), stock up on Vitamin B12 (and it’s cheap). Take 2 pills right before your first drink, and then 2 pills with every fourth drink.

Mind you, I don’t normally drink over four drinks at one setting, but people bought me a lot of shots (Three Wise Men is nasty) for my birthday.  You would have thought it was my 21st birthday at the bar. I was pregnant with twins back then when I turned 21 and didn’t even drink caffeine – well my “29 and still holding” birthday this week more than made up missing it.

Kudos to Squeak for the bottle of B12 that my posse and I devoured.  I felt fine the next morning – not even an itsy bitsy headache!  I was a tad tired, but getting only a couple hours of sleep will do that to you, and nothing a nap after the kids go to school can’t help. Actually I had to take my daughter to the dentist yesterday morning so my siesta had to wait until after lunch.

So, if you know you are going to drink too much, I suggest you stock up on  Vitamin B-12, as it’s only $2.99 for 100 tabs! And would Squeak and I steer you wrong?  Okay, don’t answer that.
